“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” -James 1:2-4
Sometimes we get so caught up in all the things that we are dealing with. The stress of it all starts to get to us, we feel overwhelmed. We get angry. We cry. We don’t understand how we will get through it all.
But, we are not given anything that we can’t handle. When we are tested with trials, it makes us stronger. It matures us. It teaches us things we might not have known in the past.
When we trust in our Lord, we can get through anything that is handed to us. All we have to do is realize that it’s all a part of the master plan that God has for our lives. Sure, it might feel as if we are not in control and that might be scary for some. But we weren’t meant to be in control over every little thing.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in the 18 almost 19 years I’ve been on this earth, it’s that everything happens for a reason. The mountain you’re climbing now will seem like an ant hill later. So instead of thinking about how far you have to go, slow down and admire the view. Instead of complaining about how out of breath you are, be thankful that you’ve been given this chance, this opportunity, to live out this experience.
One more bible verse before I go: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” -Proverbs 16:3. Everything you’re going through, you’re going through for a reason. It’ll get better. Take a step back. Breathe. Pray. Thank God for everything you have and ask for wisdom and guidance through everything you do. “Commit to the Lord WHATEVER you do…” that means worrying as well as living.
